Story Slam at April WGW

Post by WhitbyStorySlam » Sun Mar 24, 2013 9:54 pm

Hi All,

At the April WGW I'm running a new short story slam at the beautiful La Rosa Hotel. Prizes include a signed copy of Voltaire's new novel and publication in the Whitby Gazette. All the info is here: http://whitbystoryslam.wordpress.com/ and we're also on Twitter as WhitbyStorySlam and http://www.facebook.com/pages/Whitby-St ... 7393120264. All support, word spreading, attendance welcomed! :D

Has a mega hump on that she can't be in Whitby this April and take part. Will it be repeated in November as I'd love to take part?

Thanks :D

Excellent @Danov! Looking forward to hearing it read out!

@GingerDoll I hope so! If it proves popular enough this time around I'll definitely be running it again in November. :)

Have bought my ticket and my draft story is complete.

A couple of quick questions come to mind:

You give a guideline of 500 words. Are there absolute limits to length or brevity of a piece?

Are you issuing physical tickets or merely using a list at the door of who has paid?

My wife and I are running a trader's stand over the weekend. Assuming she can get cover, would she be able to buy a ticket for audience only on the door?

Definitely interested - hope this becomes a running thing.

I hope so to as I want to enter in November even if public speaking leaves me rigid with fear.
