Hi! I want to go for my first goth event but I'm pretty new in this staff. Where do you usually buy your clothes for the event?
Can you send me some links with online shops? Thanks

You can shop til you drop at the actual weekend.

Ebay does some great stuff if you're new to the scene but beware sizes. - some retailers come up a bit small (Restyle, I'm thinking of you!). I love Spin Doctor victoriana clothing and recently picked up a brand new coat for £4.80 that retailed at £45 etc.

If you want to have a look at some actual clothing sites, I have 3 favs - The Gothic Shop.com, Violent Delights (who do some nice photo galleries) and Kate's Clothing who are often the best priced and have a good sale section. Links below.

There's also Kinky Angel (which has some quite eye popping pieces...!), Attitude Clothing and Blue Banana etc. Browse and have fun!

My pleasure. If you like The-Gothic-Shop on facebook you can get a 10% discount code for any purchases made. I've never had a bad shopping experience with them and their stock is massive.

if you can wait until the event you can probably buy some at the Bizarre Bizarre - not sure if you made it to that last time but it is basically shopping nirvana. All your gothic needs under several roofs (the Spa on the seafront, the leisure centre etc). Not sure that helps!

Re: your question about the tickets - the weekend is first and foremost a music festival. If you click on the black button at the top of the page (Whitby Goth Weekend), it'll lead you to a website with the history etc. There is a week or so of organised events, from club nights on weekdays to bands at the Spa (the main event) on Friday and Saturday., followed by more club nights for those with more stamina than me! You can buy one day or weekend tickets, and its well worth going for an evening of corking music and rather splendidly attired people. I'm quite partial to the overpriced cheesy chips as well. The music weekend came before the general street melee and it is the catalyst for everything else.

Nearer the time, there will be a full guide to what's on appearing on the forum, posted by a nice guy called Loki. It'll give you more idea what's on during the day (football, dog walk, unofficial events etc).

With regard to accommodation I hate to say it, but if it's Nov 13 you are after you may be to late. Contact tourist information who may be able to help. I booked late this year (April) and really struggled to find something suitable. Best of luck, and have a wonderful time.

Yup, 1st - 3rd November. Whitby is quite a small place, so most accommodation is near the centre. Just don't end up in Sandsend, pretty as it is!

I had to swap a top twice at Kinky Angel (yep even xxl was too small for little me!) and they exchanged both times with no problems. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended!
